Obituary for Ladson Lawrence DuBose, MD Blacksburg — Ladson Lawrence DuBose, MD, 90, of 102 West Ramseur Drive, passed away Tuesday, May 29th, 2018, at his home. Born in Dazell, SC, he was the husband of Betty Neal DuBose and the son of the late Thomas Chalmers DuBose and Crawford Elizabeth Jenkins DuBose. Dr. DuBose served as a physician in Blacksburg from 1957-1990 and he was a Norfolk Southern Railroad physician.

He was a very active member of Blacksburg A.R.P. Church where he served as an elder. He was a longtime member of Blacksburg Rotary Club and was a member of American Medical Association. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Goodrich in communications.

In addition to his wife, Dr, DuBose is survived by two sons, Ladson Lawrence DuBose, Jr. and wife, Susan, of Greenville and Neal Franklin DuBose and wife, Donna, of Walnut Cove, NC; one daughter, Julia Lynne DuBose Smith and husband, Andy, of York; six grandchildren, Emily Neal Smith Ivey of Clover, Andrew Gregory Smith Jr. of York, Laura Elizabeth Smith of Charleston, Ladson Lawrence DuBose III of Greenville, Benjamin Crawford DuBose of Greensboro, NC, and Mason Norris DuBose of Greensboro, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Cayden Gabriel Ivey and Charlotte Isabella DeLeon. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas C. DuBose, Jr. and Benjamin Franklin DuBose and his sisters, Alice McCleod DuBose Smith Fowler, Myrtle Anne DuBose Pease, and Marie DuBose Munn. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 31st, 2018, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Blacksburg A.R.P. Church 108 South Chester Street Blacksburg, SC 29702.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 1st, 2018 at 11:00 am at Blacksburg A.R.P. Church with Rev. Jim Mitchell and Rev. Dr. Sinclair Lewis officiating.

Memorials may be made to Thornwell Children’s Home, 302 South Broad Street, Clinton, SC 29325 or to Blacksburg ARP Church, 108 South Chester Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702. The family will be at the residence. The Book of Memories is available at www.
