Obituary for Larry Paul Eccles Larry Paul Eccles, 77, of Pampa, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in Pampa. He entered this life on October 3, 1941 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Paul and Mona Eccles. Larry was raised in Booker but had been a resident of Pampa for the last 48 years.

Through destiny, Larry met Joan Preston and spent the last 37 years together. Larry was a jack of all trades and among his many talents he dabbled in leather tooling. Over the years, he had worked many jobs including owning and operating a concrete business, ranching and working for Cabot.

Larry thoroughly enjoyed working and sorting his horses and cattle. Although he had a very quiet humor about himself, he loved to laugh as well as make others laugh too. His smile and laughter will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donnie Eccles and son, Shawn Eccles. Those left behind to cherish a lifetime of memories are his wife Joan Eccles of the home; two daughters, Pam George of Amarillo, Renea Chambers and husband Kenny of Amarillo; two sons, Dr. Brian Gordzelik and wife DeLynn of Pampa, Wade Gordzelik of Weatherford; brother, Ron Eccles and wife Sheila of Ellenton, Florida; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Vickie Eccles of Beaver, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Mark Preston and wife Rita of Pampa and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Eccles’s Family would like to extend their deep gratitude and love to the BSA Hospice and Coronado Nursing Home Staff for the loving care and kindness they showed Larry at the end.

Larry will be available for viewing on Wednesday, January 30th from 3pm to 8pm, Thursday, January 31st and Friday, February 1st from 9am to 8pm. Celebration of Life Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Brother Albert Maggard and Pastor Scott Barton officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Pampa.
