Linda’s Obituary Linda Louise Halverson, age 59, of Ashland, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and with loving family by her side, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born July 22, 1959 in Germany, the daughter of Walter and Johanna (Leensvaart) Walter. At 3 months of age, Linda came to the United States with her parents and settled in Hebster where they farmed for several years.

They eventually moved to the Ashland area where Linda graduated high school in 1977. While in school she met the love of her life, Deane Halverson and they were united in marriage on August 20, 1977 in Ashland. Linda continued her schooling at WITC in Ashland and received an Associates Degree in Accounting.

Linda worked for Associated Bank, Larson Juhl, Best Western and MMC all of Ashland. She also served as the County Treasurer for the Town of Gingles for many years. She enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, gardening and going out on the town to watch Deane play in the Pool and Dart Leagues.

She loved being at her home relaxing on the back porch taking in all the nature and beauty of the Northwoods. She is survived by her husand, Deane; daughers, Nichole Allmann and Monica (Tristan) Burke; grandchildren, Robert Trey and McKenna Allmann, Megan (Thane) Peltonen, Patrick Barningham, Wyatt Burke and Jolynn Burke; great-grandson, Carter Peltonen and she was looking forward to the upcoming birth of her 2nd great-grandson; and special friends and her Pomeranian puppies, Little Bear and Little Bit. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland.
