Lois A. (Peterson) Butt, 90, of Rockport, wife of the late Ralph E. Butt, passed away on Saturday morning, October 27, 2018 at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Gloucester on November 25, 1927, daughter of the late Walter H. and Marion F. (Wallace) Peterson. Lois was a graduate of Belmont High School and Mt.

Ida Jr. College. She worked for many years at Pepperell Public Library as a Librarian. Lois was a member of the DAR, Cape Ann Chapter and the First Congregational Church, Rockport, where she served as their longtime treasurer of the Women’s Fellowship and Chairman for 12 years for the Christmas Bazaar.

She also volunteered at the Rockport Library. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Lois is survived by her sons, David Butt and his wife Louise of San Jose, CA, Stephen Butt of Milford, NH; grandchildren, Elaine Butt, Michelle Butt both of San Jose, CA, Philip Butt and his wife Melissa, Jonathan Butt and his wife Sarah all of NH; great-grandchildren, Harper, Cameron and Kylan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held in the First Congregational Church, Rockport on Sunday, November 18, at 3:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the First Congregational Church, 12 School Street, Rockport, MA 01966.
