Louis “Sam” Betters, 92, of Center Twp. , passed away Tuesday April 17, 2018 in his home, surrounded by loved ones. Born November 13, 1925 in Aliquippa, a son of the late George and Mary (Adyseh) Betters, he was a faithful member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Center Twp.

Mr. Betters retired as an Ironworker, and served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, in Okinawa and Japan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joannie Betters, four brothers,… Read More » John, Joe, Dave and Tony Betters; and five sisters, Katherine Eichler, Julia Sadecky, Rose Gnarra, Millie Trefry, and Betty Dods. Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, George “Wilkie” and Audrey Betters; and two sisters, Helen Salnoris, and Joan Andrews, and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 8pm in Tatalovich Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, Pa. 15001, where a service will be held Friday at 10:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, with Fr. Martin Bartel, officiating.

Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Hopewell Twp. A parish vigil service will be held Thursday at 3:45pm in the funeral home.

Sam had a kind soul and a gentle spirit. He was generous with his time, welcoming with his heart, and to know him was to love him. He will be sadly missed by his beloved family and many friends.
