Obituary of Lucian Lodestro Lucian Charles Lodestro, 78, of Bemus Point, formerly of Falconer, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born June 23, 1940, in Jamestown, the son of the late Charles J. and Rose Triana Lodestro. Lucian was a 1958 graduate of Falconer High School and a 1962 graduate of the University of Buffalo with a master’s degree in Education.

In earlier years he was employed by Notre Dame High School in Batavia, NY. For over 30 years, Lucian was employed by the Falconer Central School District having taught Physical Education and Health. He retired in 1995.

While employed at Falconer Central School, Lucian had coached track, cross country, wrestling, and bowling. He served as an assistant football coach for over 20 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church in Falconer, the Falconer Fire Department, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, and Chautauqua Eagles 2145.

He had served on the Village of Falconer Board, serving as trustee, and Town of Ellicott Board, serving as councilman. While serving on the Town of Ellicott Board, Lucian was instrumental in the Dow St. Industrial Park development and in his honor has a street named after him. Lucian enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and following the University of Buffalo and Falconer School sports. Surviving is his wife Laurene E. Johnson Lodestro whom he married January 21, 1961, in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer; three children: Lisa (David) Mauro of Jamestown, Michael (Sonya) Lodestro of Falconer, Lee (Wendi) Lodestro of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Michael Lodestro, Matthew (Madeline) Lodestro, Stephanie Lodestro, Alex Mauro, Josh Lodestro, Marissa (Alec) Flemming; two great-grandchildren: Eloise Lodestro, Harper Flemming; his sister Laurita Sicola of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles J. and Rose Lodestro.

The family would like to thank the caregivers from Tanglewood Manor and Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care for the care Lucian received and the support they provided to the Lodestro family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 17 in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church in Falconer. Rev.

Joseph Jananczek, Pastor of the church, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be donated to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave.
