Obituary of Mariam Meabon Mariam M. Meabon, 95, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday (October 6, 2018) in Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing Home. She was born June 6, 1923 in Sugar Grove, PA the daughter of the late William and Jessie Ruland Duell. Mariam served her country in the US Army during WWII, and in earlier years she was employed by Philips Lighting in Warren, PA.

She loved John Wayne movies, romance novels, cross word puzzles, walking and gardening. She is survived by her children Benita Parker of Frewsburg, NY; Monty (Debora) Meabon of Cherry Creek, NY, Dawn Meabon of Jamestown; Mona Smith of SC. ; 15 grandchildren; 37great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her best friend Jean Hothkiss.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Freemont M. Meabon whom she married April 20, 1946 in Kennedy, NY whom died December 6, 1976; a grandson Monie L. Meabon; her sister Ethelyn Holland, her companion’s Willard Wilson, and Al Flasher, and her dog Tucker. Visitation will not be observed. A memorial service will be held at later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorials may be donated the Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave. , Lakewood, NY 14750.
