Obituary of Larry Armstrong Larry R. “Pa” Armstrong, 80, of Falconer passed away unexpectedly Friday (December 21, 2018) in his home. An area resident most of his life he was born September 10, 1938 in Ellicottville, NY, the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Hopkins Armstrong. Larry attended Salamanca High School and in earlier years was employed by Jamestown Sterling and Ellison Bronze.

Prior to retirement he was employed by Union National. Larry was a member of the Fluvanna Community Church. He had coached Falconer Little League Baseball and was an avid Celtics Basketball fan, Duke Blue Devils fan and Cleveland Browns fan.

He enjoyed his family, watching basketball and attending his grandchildren’s extra-curricular activities. Surviving is his childhood sweetheart (since second and third grade) Martha E. Sherwin Armstrong whom he married March 1, 1958 in Salamanca ; three children: Kelly (Tanettee) Armstrong of Ohio, Sue (Al) Cowen of Kennedy, Sally (John) Raymond of Frewsburg; a daughter-in-law Melanie Armstrong of Ohio; six grandchildren: Stephanie Armstrong, Corey Raymond, Bobbi-Sue Cole, Kimberly (Kevin) Gustin, Shawna (Austin) Alonge, Karlie Armstrong; two great grandchildren: Elianna and Kaia Vazquez; a great granddaughter due in February, Laiken Gustin; three brothers: James (Deanna) Armstrong of Cattaraugus, Jack (Myra) Armstrong of Jamestown and Ned (Carol) Armstrong of Arizona. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Michael Armstrong who passed July 1, 2015.

Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Fluvanna Community Church immediately followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Rev. Dayle Keefer will officiate. Inurnment will be in Levant Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be donated to the Falconer Fire Department or the Fluvanna Community Church.
