Obituary of Patricia Cessna Patricia J. Cessna, 86, of Frewsburg passed away Wednesday (January 2, 2019) in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident she was born on February 29, 1932 (a leap year), the daughter of the late Allen L. and Mary P. Bixler Callihan. Pat was a graduate of Falconer High School and as a teenager was employed by Woolworth’s as a soda jerk.

While working at Woolworth she met Raymond O. Cessna and they married March 31, 1950 in Falconer. In earlier years Pat was employed by Big N, Hills and owned and operated a plant and ceramic shop in Falconer. Prior to retirement she was employed by Quality Markets in Frewsburg.

Pat was a member of the Cassadaga Country Club having played golf until age 83 in the Wednesday Night Ladies League. She was also a member of the Lakewood Senior Citizens and Frewsburg Senior Citizens. She enjoyed her family, growing African Violets and golfing.

She is survived by four children: Judith R. Dale and her husband John of Frewsburg, Janet S. Emley and her husband Patrick of Jamestown, Michael A. Cessna and his wife Sondra of Lakewood, Gary L. Cessna and his wife Barbara of Frewsburg; 8 grandchildren: Amy (Jeremy) Edwards, Jennifer Whaley, Christopher (Kayleen) Emley, Jason (Kristin) Emley, Brandon Cessna, Jordan Cessna, Ryanne Cessna, Lindsey Dingman; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and a sister Sally Lacagnina of Houston, Texas. Pat is also survived and will be dearly missed by her oldest dearest friend Marian Culver and her newest dearest friend Sylvia Erwin. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond O. Cessna whom she married March 31, 1950, who died January 3, 2006; a brother Russell Callihan and a sister Betty Dill.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.

Memorial contributions may be donated to the Frewsburg Volunteer Fire Department, Frewsburg, NY 14738.
