Obituary of Marian Newark Marian L. Newark, 91, of Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing, formerly of Jamestown passed away Thursday (January 10, 2019) in UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong area resident she was born December 11, 1927 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late James and Florence Comstock Huntington. Marian was a graduate of Jamestown High School and prior to retirement was employed by Truck-Lite.

She enjoyed spending time with her family at family gatherings, her grandchildren, crocheting, crafts, reading books, gardening, attending garage sales and baking. Surviving is her daughter Brenda McMurdy of Clayton, NC; her daughter-in-law Linda Newark of Jamestown; her son-in-law Harry Alford of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Lisa Spunaugle (Al Chapman) of Jamestown; Laurie Chipley of North Carolina, Kearie (Jim) Toth of North Carolina, Amy (Kevin) Patterson of Jamestown, Brian (Rose) McMurdy of North Carolina; 11 great grandchildren: Russell Spunaugle, Dillon Lampan, Jonah Chipley, David Toth Jr., Joshua Toth, Hannah Toth, Benjamin Oswalt, Lucinda Patterson, James Patterson, Miley McMurdy, Brian McMurdy Jr. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Russell J. Newark whom she married June 28, 1947 in Jamestown, who died August 21, 2003; a daughter Linda M. Alford on October 3, 2007; her son Keith E. Newark on December 13, 2010 and a brother Robert Huntington. The funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home.

Rev. Doug Penhollow of Jamestown Community Chapel will officiate. Friends will be received by the family from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be donated to the UPMC Chautauqua Kidney Dialysis Unit, 207 Foote Ave. Jamestown, NY 14701. or Chautauqua County Humane Society 2825 Strunk Rd.
