Obituary of Ruth Rhinehart Ruth Joyce Rhinehart, 86, of Ellington, went to be with the Lord Tuesday (December 18, 2018) at UPMC Chautauqua, surrounded by her loving family and friends. A lifelong area resident she was born November 24, 1932 in the Town of Ellery, the daughter of the late John and Ernestine Mills Ingerson. Joyce was a graduate of Bemus Point Central School and in earlier years was employed by Quality Markets in Ellington.

Prior to retirement she was employed by Falconer Central School. Joyce along with her late husband George served as Foster Parents for at least 80 children for 25 years. She was a member of the; Ellington Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Ellington United Methodist Church, Food Pantry of Ellington, Chautauqua County Board of Elections in Ellington; Ellington Town Picnic Association, Jolly Workers Ladies Aid, Ellington Grange, Chautauqua County Farm Bureau and Ellery Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends; traveling with her family and sisters; Friday night fish fries with friends, cooking, baking, canning, sewing, hosting family gatherings on the holidays and birthdays; puzzles, gardening and she was a big “Bills Fan”. Joyce will be remembered for her generosity and kindness. Surviving are her five children: Wanda (Dave) Young of Ellington, Joan (Rick) Swanson of Kennedy, Becky (Bob) Sheesley of Bemus Point, Tim (Mary) Rhinehart of Ellington, Tom (Divina) Rhinehart of Jamestown, Max Rhinehart of Washington State; six grandchildren: Amanda Cross-Hemmer, Heather Young-Deyell, Brett (Stephanie) Rhinehart, Kerri (Steve) Allesie, Jamie (Tim) Putt, Kyle Rhinehart; two step grandchildren: Karina Ortiz, Aileen Ortiz; several great grandchildren, step great grandchildren; three sisters: Joan (Jim) Nary-Adams, Francis Price, Theron Mills; several nieces and nephews and her special friend Maurice Stowell.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George M. Rhinehart whom she married February 2, 1951, who died in 1997 and a brother Harold “Stubby” Ingerson. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev.

Gordon Damsteegt pastor of Ellington United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Ellington. Friends will be received by the family from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
