Obituary of Violet Betts Violet J. Betts, 87, formerly of Kennedy passed away Saturday (December 29, 2018) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. A lifelong area resident she was born October 28, 1931 in Randolph, NY, the daughter of the late Marion and Marian Hitchcock Boe. Violet attended Falconer High School and was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life.

She enjoyed her family, collecting nick-knacks and thimbles from every state. Surviving are three sons: Gale Betts (Jeanne Kaczar), Robert Betts, Richard (Tamara) Betts all of Greenhurst; a daughter Shirley (Alan) Anderson of Rochester Hill, MI; four grandchildren: Scott Anderson, Karen (Joe) Ciaffone, Courtney Dawson, Peyton Betts; four great grandchildren: Tobin Hagstrom, Hudson, Sydney and Hayden Dawson. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur C. Betts whom she married March 24, 1951, who died August 30, 2001 and a granddaughter Mallory Betts on September 10, 2016.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Kennedy Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to the Kennedy Fire Department or Chautauqua County Humane Society.
