Obituary for Lyle Carroll Vail Mr. Lyle Carroll Vail, 89, of Charlotte, entered into greater glory peacefully, on Friday, January 11, 2018 at the Brookdale South Park Assisted Living Center. He is survived by his beloved wife Phyllis Cornell Vail, daughters Barbara Auer, Nancy Davis, two granddaughters, and six great grandchildren. Lyle was born in Clark County, Ohio, on December 19, 1929, to the late Merrill and Charlotte Smith Vail where he spent his young life until he enlisted in the United States Air Force.

In the latter phase of his life he was a government employee in the Aerospace field. To all who knew him he was a gentleman. He will be missed by family, many friends and acquaintances.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lyle’s name to St. Micheal the Archangel Anglican Church, 2200 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, North Carolina 28105.
