Obituary for William Edward Sweeney William Edward Sweeney, 85, of Charlotte, NC passed away Saturday, January 6, 2019 at Aldersgate, Charlotte. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am Friday, January 11th at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 8452 Idlewild Road with burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace, Matthews, NC.

Born September 26, 1933 in Buffalo, NY to the late Thomas and Ethel Sweeney. Mr. Sweeney graduated from Canisius High School in 1951 and graduated in 1964 from SUNY Buffalo with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked his entire career at Union Carbide/Praxair.

William was married to Rosemary for 38 years until her death in 2003. In 2009, he was blessed to marry Joyce. He is survived by his wife Joyce and his four children, Christopher (wife Karen) Sweeney, Michael (wife Liz) Sweeney, Kathleen (husband George) Mansour and Karen Miller.

“Grandpa” was loved by his twelve grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Thomas and Joseph.
