Mamie Mason Godwin, 82, died Saturday, March 31, 2018, at McLeod Hospice House of Florence after an illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Salem Free Will Baptist Church, Scranton, with burial to follow at Yarborough Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, April 2, 2018 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.

Mrs. Godwin was born June 8, 1935 in Florence County, daughter of the late Emory Collins and Ollie Yarborough Collins. She was a member of Salem Free Will Baptist Church where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary and formerly served as Sunday School Teacher and Church Treasurer. Mrs. Godwin retired from the Security Department at Blue Cross Blue Shield.

She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Jean Godwin of Lake City, Stan (Scarlett) Godwin of Raleigh, NC, Susan Godwin of Scranton and Dan (Sara) Godwin of Kingstree; grandchildren, Matthew (Dana) Jordan, Adrienne Lee, Casey Godwin, Mason Godwin, Ryan Murphy and Candace (Benji) Powell; great grandchildren, Ella Bliss Jordan and Collin Rivers Powell. Mrs. Godwin was preceded in death by a granddaughter, April McKenzie; sister, Kizzie Alford and brother, Legrande Collins.

Memorials may be made to Salem Free Will Baptist Church, 2337 McAllister Mill Road, Scranton, SC 29591.
