Marlene’s Obituary Marlene Joy (Heatwole) Martin, 57, of Port Republic, passed away January 6 after a long fight with respiratory illness, and was swept into the realms of glory where she is now effortlessly breathing celestial air. Mrs. Martin was born on December 28, 1961 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of Charles Lee and Doris Marie (Brubaker) Heatwole. She was a member of the Pike Mennonite Church.

She was a devoted wife and a Rock to her husband David S. Martin, whom she married on January 14, 1984. Mrs. Martin was a loving and caring mother to her four children, Ryan Martin of Harrisonburg, Bruce Martin and wife Beth of Bridgewater, Daryn Martin and wife Abigail of Bridgewater, Angela Martin of Port Republic; a doting grandmother to three grandchildren, Eden Elisabeth Martin, Emmeline Eve Martin, Oliver Graham Martin; and sister to Dawn Rodes and husband Nelson of Port Republic, Erma Good and husband Kervin of Singers Glen, and Lori Rohrer and husband Conrad of Timberville. She was preceded in death by a brother Jay Brent Heatwole.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Pike Mennonite Church with the ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 until 4 PM and 6 until 8 PM at the Pike Mennonite Church.
