Martie Lee July 20, 1945 – January 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Martie Lee, 73, of Lovell Rd. , Corry, Pa. , died Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Erie, Pa.
She was born July 20, 1945 in Titusville, Pa. , a daughter of Gloria M. Morris of Spartansburg, Pa. , and the late Raymond J. Morris.
Martie was raised and educated in Spartansburg, Pa. She graduated from Sparta Merged High School in 1963 and then attended Edinboro University. She worked as the Executive Director for Safe Journey in Union City from 1987 to 2007.
She continued working on a part-time basis until fully retiring at the end of 2018. She served on the Corry Area School Board for 20 years as director and also secretary and president. Martie served several years as director on the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit board, the Corry Salvation Army Advisory board and as a board member of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Martie co-founded and chaired the original Human Service Roundtable of the Corry and Union City areas, and co-founded the original Corry Soup Kitchen (now at the Salvation Army). Throughout the years, she served on various county task forces, committees and forums. Martie coached Sparta girls teener softball for 10 years and has authored several children’s workbooks and life coaching journals.
She attended the Elgin United Methodist Church. Martie enjoyed making purses and had sold them in 10 stores throughout the local area. She especially enjoyed Piper, her golden retriever.
In addition to her father, Martie was preceded in death by a brother, Terry L. Morris. Martie is survived by her mother, Gloria M. Morris; her husband, Dick A. Lee, whom she married June 1, 1984 in Union City, Pa. ; two daughters, Michelle Swarm Evans and her husband Dane of Erie, Pa.
, and Lori Palisin and her husband Matthew of Fredonia, N.Y.; two sons, Steve Nadolny of South Carolina and Craig Nadolny and his companion Amanda Baron of Youngsville, Pa. ; two sisters, Carol A. Hunt of Corry, Pa. , and Barbara J. Miller and her husband Harm of Lincolnville, Pa.
;and two brothers, Brian J. Morris of Spartansburg, Pa. , and Edwin K. Morris and his wife Emily of Mayville, N.Y. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Tim Nadolny, Dakota and Haylee Nadolny, Jacob and Kennedy Koe and Danielle and Noah Palisin; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation held. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at the Elgin United Methodist Church, 18240 N. Main St., Elgin, Pa. , on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11 am.
Rev. Ed Rose will officiate. Burial will be in McCray Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
