Marvin Elmer Scearce, 78, of Martinsville, VA passed away Friday, December 21, 2018. He was born April 2, 1940 in Henry Co., VA to the late Elmer Leonard Scearce and Sallie Emma Shorter Scearce. Mr. Scearce was a member of Fuller Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and assistant Sunday school teacher.

He was a certified surveyor and served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. Marvin was a very devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife,… Read More » Rebecca Wade Scearce of the home; daughters, Tracy Craddock (Tyler) of Chesterfield, VA and Terri Stowe (Glen) of Dry Fork, VA; son, Brian Scearce (Alisha) of Linwood, NC; sister, Margaret Puckett of Martinsville, VA; and grandchildren, Kailey Tomnay, Dylan Craddock, Jarret Stowe, Seth Stowe, Madison Scearce, MacKenzie Scearce, Brooke Scearce, and Brianna Scearce.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Fuller Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Hardin officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102 or to Fuller Memorial Baptist Church, 1204 S. Askin Street, Martinsville, VA 24112. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory of Martinsville, VA is serving the Scearce family.
