Obituary for Mary Ann Liepelt Mary Ann Danford Liepelt, passed away on December 29, 2018. She was born in Menard, Texas to Denzil and Gwendolyn Shannon on September 14, 1944. MaryAnn lived in Menard after graduation, got married and had two children.

She worked many years at Wilensky’s Boot Shop and was a member of the Menard Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed books, so it was fitting that she took on the Librarian position at the Menard High School. After many years she decided to go on a new journey from Menard and moved to Houston, where she became an Administrative assistant at Houston Community College.

It was here that she met her wonderful husband Walter, and they became best friends and were married in 1996. The two resided in Houston for two years and moved to Liberty Hill, Texas, where they had a lovely home on a hillside with a beautiful deck overlooking a huge garden full of fresh vegetables. A few years down the road they relocated to Brownwood to retire and be closer to family.

MaryAnn was a very hardworking individual who loved gardening, canning, baking, and she made some of the best enchiladas in town. She was a proud Texas woman who could build a fence or patch a roof. She was a “straight shooter from the hip “as Wally would say….

and is well known for being an honest and to the point kinda gal. She is preceded in death by her parent’s Densil and Gwendolyn Shannon and her sister Sierra Mayfield. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Walter, son Terry Danford and wife Kim of Richland Springs, Texas, daughter Dana Pringle and husband George of League City, Texas, step daughters Mona Spaid and husband Eric of Chicago, and Michelle Moser and husband Brian also of Chicago; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home Saturday January 5, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. There will be a visitation from 10:00 -12:30 just prior to the service.
