Mary’s Obituary Mary G. Tyre, 97, of Jesup, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019, after an extended illness. Born November 13, 1921, in Chatham County, Georgia, she was the oldest member of Altamaha Baptist Church. She was a retired supervisor from Manhattan Shirt Company.

The daughter of the late Joseph B. and Betty Lou Weaver Graeber, she was predeceased by her husband of 69 years Terrell Daniel Tyre, daughter and son-in-law Delores and Steven Stahlhut, granddaughter Meredith Hartman, son-in-law Dr. R. Reppard Bennett and sisters Josephine Poppell and Marie Poppell. Survivors are her daughter Anita Bennett of Gainesville, Georgia; five grandchildren Angela Pascual (Dr. Rafael) of Gainesville, Dr. T. Reppard Bennett (Karen) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Dr. Laura Howell (Tom) of Royston, Georgia, Gayla Pierce (Jeff) of Gainesville, and Tyler Stahlhut (Katie) of Freeport, Florida; eight great grandchildren Christopher Tiegreen, Jonathan Tiegreen (Mattie), Danielle Inman (William), Jillian Pascual, Nicholas Pascual, McKinney Pierce, Jordan Bennett and Kendall Bennett; one great-great grandchild Zuri Tiegreen; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jack Lee officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Love Thy Neighbor Sunday School Class of Altamaha Baptist Church. A private family burial will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Altamaha Baptist Church, 6622 Oglethorpe Road, Jesup, GA 31545. The family wishes to give special thanks for their loving care to Dr. Lance Hendrix and staff, the staffs of Harborview Nursing Home, Community Home Health Care Agency, Hospice of South Georgia, Northeast Georgia Hospice, and to family and friends who helped throughout this journey. The Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of the arrangements.
