Clarence “Jeff”‘s Obituary Jesup, GA Clarence Jeffie “Jeff” Darley, 84, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 3, 2019. He was born in Glynn County and moved to Wayne County after serving in the U. S. Air Force in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He retired from ITT Rayonier after 30 years.

He was a charter member of Anderson Drive Baptist Church where he faithfully served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, and was lovingly known as “The Candy Man” for distributing peppermints to young and old. Favorite past-times through the years included creating gifts made from wood, building handicapp ramps for the elderly and disabled, and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Ethel Darley; sisters, Madeline Darley, Geraldine Boatright, Thera Graham, and Grace Kinsey; granddaughter, Martha Perkins.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay Reeves Darley of Jesup; daughters, Jessica (Calvin) Perkins of Winters, Texas, Valerie Howard of Kingsland, and Dawn Darley of Savannah; sons, Jeff (Richelle) Darley of Louisiana and Joey Darley of Jesup; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; long-time friend, Judy Bedillion. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josh Stafford officiating. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.

Active pallbearers will be Lance Darley, Logan Darley, Dustin Howard, Sam Howard, Morgan Miller, Don Pye, Michael Roach, and Twyman Vickers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Sunday School Class. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

The family wants to express a special thank you to Lindsey and Reagan and Georgia Hospice Care. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
