Virginia’s Obituary Virginia Sapp Ogden, 92 of Odum died Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Wayne Memorial Hospital and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. The Wayne County native was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church and a homemaker. Virginia’s faith was very important to her and leaned on it rearing her children and grandchildren.

She would look forward to the family getting together especially around the holidays. She also loved to bird watch and enjoyed nature. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Talmadge E. Ogden; a brother, Thomas Sapp and a granddaughter, Allison Ogden.

Survivors are 3 daughters, Linda (David) Davis, Irene (Jerry) Rogers, Kate (Ward) Harvey, all of Odum; two sons, Tally (Joy) Ogden, David (DeAnne) Ogden, both of Odum; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle Deal of Aiken; a brother, Billy (Jean) Sapp of Screven; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, February 11, 2019 at Altamaha Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Lee officiating.

Interment will follow in the Altamaha Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Benji Ogden, Brian Ogden, Art Rogers, Jasper Harvey, Jordan Harvey and Judd Ogden. Visitation will be 3 to 5 PM Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Altamaha Baptist Church Building Fund, 6622 Oglethorpe Road, Odum, Ga. 31555. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
