Mary H. Utt, 76, of Axton, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at her residence with her loving family surrounding her. Mary was born August 16, 1942, in Hillsville, VA. , to the late Emmitt Lee and Gertrude Salome (Lowe) Hawks.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Charles Cahill. Mary drove a school bus for Carlisle School for over 40 years. She was in the Textile Industry until her retirement.

She’s a member of Virginia’s Foothills Quilters Guild and a member of Genesis Community Church in Eden, N.C. Mary is survived by her husband, Earl Utt; two daughters, Deborah (Kenneth) Robison and Lisa (David) White; one son, Rodney (Shirley) Utt; three grandchildren, Corey Rakes, James Cahill and Kelly Robison; and three great grandchildren, Emily Cahill, Lilly Rakes and Allison Rakes. The Memorial Service will be 6 pm, Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Rd. , Martinsville, with family receiving friends one hour prior to services.

Pastor Bryant Booth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice or to the church.
