Obituary for Mary Legg Mary E. Legg (Nelson), 89, of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Gray. A native of Washington County, she is the daughter of the late Orville and Okie Sifford. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Legg; sister, Lucille Jackson and her husband, William; brother, Gordon Sifford; and daughter, Barbara Long.

Mary loved the Lord and always had kind words for everyone. She retired from Appalachian Christian Village as a CNA after twenty-one years. Mary loved everyone she met, and enjoyed cooking for them.

She also enjoyed sewing and taking care of her pets. Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include: children, Judy Rosenbaum, William Nelson (Patricia), Danny Nelson (Mary), Joyce Nelson, and Michael Nelson (Cheri); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will gather to receive friends on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City from 12:00 PM until a celebration of Mary’s life beginning at 1:00 PM.

A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Washington County Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:20 PM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
