Obituary for Mary Nell Collins Mary Nell Collins, 78, of Laurel, MS passed away from her earthly home on November 10, 2018 surrounded by her family. Mary Nell retired from the Jones County School cafeteria department in 1996. She was cafeteria manager for 18 years at Calhoun Elementary School.

She loved working and enjoyed all the children that came though the lunch lines over the years. Mary Nell was a member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun. She was a loving and devoted wife to Pat for 53 years, a mother and grandmother.

She enjoyed cooking delicious meals, and working in her many flower beds. Mary Nell never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Sidney Loftin and Gladys Loftin; sister, Ruby Mae Everett, and brothers, Burl Loftin, Roy Loftin, L.S. Loftin, Bernard Loftin, and Tommy Loftin.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bennie L. “Pat” Collins; sons, Kenny Holland, and Anthony “Tony” Collins (Bridget); daughter, Melissa Lawrence (Scotty) all of Laurel; step-sons, Jeff Freeman and Michael Freeman; three grandsons, Josh Holland, Nathaniel Lawrence, and Tristan Lawrence all of Laurel. Visitation will be at Memory Chapel on Tuesday November 13, 2018 from 5-8:00 p.m. Funeral will be Wednesday November 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Calhoun starting at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Leon Carmical will officiate.
