She was the daughter of the late Andrew Carter and Rebecca Fuller Carter who survives. She was married to John George Stevens of the home.

She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: John George Stevens of the home; a son: John Stevens of Burlington; her mother: Rebecca Fuller Carter of Burlington; siblings: John Carter of Green Level, Peggy Carter and Annie Carter of Burlington, Bobby Carter (Edwinna) of Hampton, VA and Brenda Carter of Burlington; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
