Obituary for Michael Lee Stanaford Michael Lee Stanaford 1950-2018 Michael Stanaford, 68, of Grayson passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. He was born June 17, 1950 in Huntington ,WV a son of the late Oval D. Stanaford and Ann Quinn Morrison. He had been employed at Service Wire in Milton, WV and then in later years as a Deputy Jailer in Carter County.
He was of the Church of God faith, and had proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Betty Sparks and a step-son, Larry Justice. Michael is survived by his wife, Maxine Rogers Stanaford, a daughter, Kimberlie (Gregory Howard)Artrip of Kenova, WV; a step-son, Keith Justice of Grayson, KY; a step-daughter, Bertha (Brian ) McKnight of Ironton, OH; and a brother, Ernest Oval Stanaford of Atlanta, GA; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Mark Griffin, minister. Burial will follow with an escort by the Patriot Guard Riders to the Cribbs Hill Cemetery, where Military Honors will be presented by American Legion Post 93 Kenova, WV. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
