Obituary of Michael Schroeder, Sr. Michael L. Schroeder, Sr., age 55, of Corning, NY passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Michael was born on August 16, 1962 in Corning, NY, the son of the late Walter F. and the late Norma E. (VaNess) Schroeder. He was a graduate of Corning East High School, class of 1981.

He married Faith L. DuVall on March 16, 1986 at Watson Homestead, Painted Post, NY. He worked in various positions at World Kitchen of Corning for over 25 years. Michael will be missed by many.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a special friend to many. Michael thoroughly enjoyed spending time at his secluded cabin located in Cuba, NY and traveling down south to various beaches. His favorite hobbies included collecting classic automobiles, attending drag races and classic car shows.

His most treasured moments were the times he spent with his children and two granddaughters. He is survived by his loving wife, Faith L. Schroeder of Corning, NY; sons: Michael L. Schroeder, Jr. of Corning, NY, Jesse A. Schroeder of Corning, NY; daughter, Sarah J. Schroeder of Corning, NY; grandchildren: , Mia Marie Schroeder, Elise Faith Schroeder; siblings: Shirley (Tom) Roberts of Beaver Dams, NY, Richard Schroeder of Campbell, NY, Cynthia Schroeder of Corning, NY, Jeff (Lynda) Schroeder of Lindley, NY and Eric (Stacie) Schroeder of TN; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY.

The family will receive friends immediately following the celebration from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s name may be made to an SPCA of your choice.
