He beheld the glory of the Lord of this life and the savior of his soul, Jesus Christ, and began eternity with Him. Mickey was born on August 31, 1948 in Borger, Texas to Lyndle Lee and Agnes Lucille (Smirl) Cook.

He attended schools in Borger and Stinnett and graduated Morse High School in 1966. On June 4, 1966, Mickey married Elaine Schick in Morse, Texas. Mickey was a mechanic/machinist most of his life.

He worked in the oil field and irrigation engine and farm irrigation industries. Companies he worked for were Baker and Taylor Drilling Company as an engine and rig mechanic. He also worked for Eason Oil Company, Oklahoma City, as chief mechanic and new rig supervisor.

Also, Gruver Motor Parts as mechanic on Moline engines and for 28 years, he worked at H&H Waterwell Service and Machine in the gearhead sales and repairs and auxiliary pump repair. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Stephen Paul Cook. He is survived by: his wife, Elaine; a son, Devin Kincaide and wife Mandy of Amarillo; a sister, Carolyn Taylor and husband Max of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 4 granddaughters: Echo O’Brien, Memree Cook, Vandy Cook and Gianna Cook and a grandson, Chase O’Brien.

Although Mickey battled many conditions (heart, lung and kidney), he remained positive and kept a smile and always tried to show the Joy of the Lord and bring His message of love to anyone who would listen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Cross Community Church of God, 700 Franklin Street, Borger, with Bishop Mike Springer officiating. Interment will follow in Old Hansford Cemetery, Spearman, Texas.

Mr. Cook will lie in state Friday, November 30, 2018 from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains, 206 W. 1st Street, Borger. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors, Borger.
