Mike Ramirez, Jr. September 06, 1940 – January 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mike Ramirez, Jr, 78, of Loveland was called to heaven January 18, 2019. Mike was born September 6, 1940, in Loveland to Mike Sr. and Josefa Ramirez. He is survived by sons Douglas, and Roger (Wendy) of Greeley, and Dave (Helen) of Loveland.

Surviving grandchildren include: Kayla Saucedo, Ricky (Kady) Saucedo and Easton Ramirez of Greeley, Keegan Rodriguez of Mead, Medeia Ramirez of Loveland, Chris Kirby, Arizona, and Kayla Kirby of South Dakota and six great grandchildren. Mike is also survived by the mother of his children and his best friend, Ruth Case. Surviving siblings include: Virginia Kilpatrick (Jeff), Esther Miller, Rosie Kage (Bunk – deceased), Tony Ramirez (Judy), John Ramirez, Elaine Pollard, Walt Ramirez, Rich Ramirez, Barb Musslewhite (Jim), and Gene Baird (Lynda), and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Inez, Louis and Valente (Cap) Ramirez; sisters Tomasa (Tommie) Ramirez, Theresa Scott (Randall – deceased), Margie Ramirez (Cary Nickolls – deceased) and Barbara Christine Ramirez. Mike graduated from Loveland High School in 1960 as an outstanding athlete and leader. He retired from the USAF after 20 years of dedicated service.

His accomplishments included: Senior NCO of the year – USAFE 1978, and finalist for USAF Twelve Outstanding Airmen of the Year Award 1978. A 19 year career with the United States Postal Service followed his AF career. He was recognized and respected as a top baseball official at the college and high school level, as well as softball and football.

He officiated the first American semi-pro football game in Milano Italy. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland. Visitation will take place from 4-7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Interment at Loveland Burial Park with military honors, will follow the Mass.
