Obituary for Mrs. Monica M. Delorey Mrs. Monica M. Delorey, 98, formerly of Lanesborough, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in Hudson, NH. She was born on June 26, 1920 the daughter of Patrick and Ann Ennis Griffin, she attended schools in Lanesborough and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Pittsfield. She earned her Bachelors degree from the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY.
Mrs. Delorey was a Teacher at the former Lanesborough Stone School and later at Hancock Elementary School. She retired in 1981. Monnie loved music, reading, swimming and going to the beach but most of all she loved “FAMILY”.
She was an accomplished concert pianist. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Delorey, Jr. who passed away on July 7, 1992. Monica is survived by her children, Daniel J. Delorey III and his wife Nancy and Suzanne Houghton and her husband Jerry; six grandchildren, Kimberly Choquette (Jon), Jennifer Capone (Ron), Elizabeth Clemente (David), Jay Houghton (Lily), John Houghton (Michelle) and Carolyn Vecchione (Jamie); 11 great grandchildren, Laura, Jacob and Samantha Capone; David and Emily Clemente, Jacob Choquette; Alyssa Houghton, Kathryn Houghton and Cecelia, Sadye and Joseph Vecchione.
She is also survived by a sister in law, Elaine Kearns of Dalton as well as several nieces and nephews. Monica was predeceased by a brother, Henry Griffin and by an infant son, Michael. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Monica M. Delorey will be Thursday, November 8, 2018 with at Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev.
A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 in her memory.
