MSG (Retired) Ernest Ray McManus, age 86, of Lawton, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Lawton.

He was born July 29, 1932 in Flora, Illinois to Ernest and Corine (Carlisle) McManus. He married Chun Cha Kim on December 17, 1965 in Seoul, South Korea. She died September 28, 2017.

SGT McManus retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years of service. He then worked for Christopher’s Furniture for over twenty years. His hobby was genealogy and he had served as the president of the Research Club.

He was also a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his son, Michael Ray McManus, daughter and son-in-law, Hui Suk and Henry A. Woods, Lawton, son, and daughter-in-law, Jun H. and Song S. Kim, Virginia Beach, Virginia and a brother, Bob McManus. He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, Krista McManus, son Ernest Ray McManus, III and grandson, Daniel Kim.
