Obituary for Nola Blankenship Johnson Nola Blankenship Johnson, age 92, of Erwin, went home to be with Jesus and her family on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Hillview Health Care. A native of Flag Pond, Nola is a daughter of the late C.L. and Eugenia Crain Blankenship. She was a compassionate, caring, loving, strong woman, who was dedicated to her family, her profession in nursing, and to her God.

She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Erwin and a member of Central Baptist Church of Johnson City. In addition to her parents, Nola is preceded in death by her husband, William Dana Johnson and brothers and sisters, Elva Blankenship, Grace Blankenship, Fannie Fender, Paul Blankenship, Homer Blankenship, Joe Blankenship, and Dallas Blankenship. Nola Blankenship Johnson has left behind to cherish her memory: Daughters: Barbara Johnson Marsh of Gray, Linda Johnson Wilson and husband, Steven of Unicoi; Grandchildren: Jennifer Ferrell and husband, Sean of Cincinnati, OH, Dr. Julie W. Lemmon and husband, Jeremy of Nashville, TN; Great Grandchildren: Drew, Amelia, Sarah, and Reid; Brothers: Hurshel “Bud” Blankenship and wife, Mary of Erwin; Sisters: Glenna Crain of Erwin, Doris Butler of Johnson City, Patsy Church of Boco Raton, FL.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Governors Bend Assisted Living and Hillview Nursing Home. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Nola Blankenship Johnson in a Graveside Service to begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. Dr. Ray Sorrells will officiate.

Those attending the graveside service on Saturday will meet at 10:50 AM at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at www.
