Norbert W. “Norb” Hohman, 89, of Washington Township, formerly of the South Hills, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 7, 1929 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Frank & Stella Hohman. Norb lived in Washington Township for the last 11 years, and was a 1945 graduate of South Hills High School.

He proudly served our country with the United States Air Force, stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. Norb worked… Read More » as a senior HVAC engineer for the firm of Burt Hill Kosar & Rittleman Associates retiring in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion.

Norb enjoyed travelling the country in the RV he shared with late wife Barbie, seeing 47 states. He enjoyed golfing and watching PGA Tournaments, gardening, fishing, United States history, and especially liked reading historical books. In addition to his parents, Norb was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Barbara A. “Barbie” (Bricker) Hohman, who passed away on October 29, 2017; grandson, Adrian Hohman, who passed away in 2012; brothers, Robert, Walter, and Kenneth; and his sister, Ruth Davin.

He is survived by his children, William N. Hohman of Allegheny Township, Mary L. (Paul Sweeney) Hohman of Centerville, OH, Susan E. (Daniel) Nore of San Diego, CA, John C. (Karen) Hohman of Allegheny Township, James F. (Elizabeth) Hohman of Woodford, VA; grandchildren, Merritt, Gavyn, Emily, Farrell, Shawn, Trevor, Nicole, Hannah, Jayne, Milo; great grandchildren, Tyler, Heidi, Hendrix, Jack, Hank; sister, Evelyn Bianchi of Mt. Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews. At Norb’s request, all services are private, and have been entrusted to the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Apollo, PA.

Private Interment in Queen Of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, will take place at the convenience of the family. The family requests Memorial Contributions be made in Norbert’s memory to Good Samaritan Hospice Charitable Fund, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
