Joseph S. Vnuk, 88, of Parks Township passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in QLS West Haven Manor, Washington Township. Born on December 15, 1929 in Avonmore he was a son of the late Martin and Veronika (Marz) Vnuk. Joseph was a 1944 graduate of Vandergrift High School and lived most of his life in Parks Township.

He retired in 1980 from Wean United in Vandergrift where he had been employed as a molder for 32 years. Joseph was a veteran of the US Army having served… Read More » during the Korean War. He had been a member of the VFW Post 566 and American Legion Post 114 in Vandergrift; American Legion Post 868 in Lower Burrell and the Apollo Elks.

He was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in East Vandergrift. He enjoyed golfing, polka dancing, hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis and Wendall Vnuk; sisters, Florence (Arthur) Pohl, Margaret (William Faust, Mary (John) DeFloria, Helen (Raleigh) Freeman and Ann (Gusty) Teeters.

Joseph is survived my numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10 am with Father Michael Sciberras officiating. Private burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift.
