TORRINGTON – Norman D. LaMere, Sr., 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Barbara (Messenger) LaMere for 36 years. Born July 29, 1948 in Winsted; the son of Francis and Alice (LaCasse) LaMere.

Norm was an HVAC Technician in the Torrington area for over 30 years and in his retirement, was compassionate in his work with Martel Transportation in Canton driving special needs children. He enjoyed… Read More » volunteering for the Nepaug Fire Department for many years. Norm loved spending time with his family camping and fishing, and was a member of the Harwinton Rod and Gun Club.

In addition to his loving wife, he leaves his beloved children, DeAnne Towle and husband Richard of Winsted, Donnaleigh Adams and husband Michael of Norfolk and Norman D. LaMere, Jr., and wife Nicole of New Hartford; two brothers, Arthur LaMere and wife Dora of Torrington and Robert LaMere and wife Yvonne of Torrington; cherished grandchildren, Rachel Towle, Leanna Adams, Jannel Towle, Kaylin Adams, Zachary Adams, Jackson LaMere, Weston LaMere and Coleton LaMere; many nieces and nephews and his special dog, Berta. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted at 5 – 7 PM. Burial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Riverside Cemetery, Pleasant Valley at 11 AM.
