Owen Barrett January 27, 1921-June 1, 2018 Mishawaka-Owen Barrett, son of Chester and Jessie Barrett, died June 1, 2018 peacefully with his wife, Phyllis Barrett by his side. He was 97 years old. He and Phyllis were married a week shy of 71 years.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Hope Dye and Ida Kamm and son, Bruce Barrett. Owen started drilling wells with his father, Chester and later started a well drilling business with his brother-in-law, Bill Kamm. Following that he served the city of Mishawaka as plumbing inspector for 25 years after which he retired.

Owen leaves four children, Brent Barrett (Sally), Beth Madigan, Becky Ogorek (Keith) and Brenda McCabe (Dan). He has 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Owen was a jack of all trades and his handy work could be found in all the homes of his children, nieces and nephews and friends.

He attended River Valley Church with his wife for many years. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held July 14 at noon at River Valley Church.
