Pamela’s Obituary Pamela Joyce Hedges Ritchey, 61, of Waddy, wife of James “Jim” Junior Ritchey, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Harrodsburg, KY. Born February 18, 1957 in Shelbyville, KY, Pamela was the daughter of the late Johnnie Hedges, Jr. and Evelyn Pearson Hedges. Including her parents, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Mary Maggie Pearson and Van Pearson, paternal grandparents Johnnie Hedges Sr. and Lillie Mae Hedges, her brother, Johnny Lewis Hedges.

Pamela was a 1975 graduate of Shelby County High School and the College of Cosmetology & Hair Design in Frankfort. Pamela worked as a hairstylist, and was the owner of Pamela’s Hair Design, and worked at the Hair Doctor and Shear Magic. She was a member of the Pigeon Fork Baptist Church where she was a former youth worker and sang in the church choir.

Pamela was a musician, playing multiple instruments and vocals in the Horizon Band and the Hedge’s Family Band. She enjoyed fishing, crafts and had numerous hobbies. Along with her husband, Pamela is survived by her two children, Melissa Carol “Missy” Reynolds and her husband Gary of Harrodsburg and James Douglas “Jimmy” Ritchey III and his fiancé Tara of Waddy; five grandchildren, Megan Lynn Ritchey (fiancée Andy Farmer), Heather Renee Ritchey, Madeline Carol Ritchey, Austin Wyatt Reynolds, Lydia Joy Reynolds; a great grandson Easton Wayne Farmer; six sisters, Jacqueline (Gary) Zeller, Patricia Hedges, Teresa (Perry) Harp, Brenda (Darryl) Raisor, Angela Hedges, and Karen (Kevin) McDowell; a sister-in-law Carolyn Hedges; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30th form 4 – 8 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg and from 11 – 1 Thursday at the Pigeon Fork Baptist Church, 5090 Hickory Ridge Rd. , Waddy, KY. Funeral services will follow the visitation of Thursday, January 31st beginning at 1:00 at the Pigeon Fork Baptist Church with Bro.

Vernon Carpenter and Bro. Musial Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pigeon Fork Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne Ritchey, Charles Ritchey, Doug Ritchey, James Carriss, Jack Hedges, Robbie Weichert, Steve Huddleston, and Christian Duguay. Memorials are suggested to the Pamela Ritchey Memorial Fund, c/o Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, P.O. Box 730, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.
