Patrica Anne Ladue July 08, 1935 – January 16, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Moretown, VT Patricia A. Ladue, 83, of Moretown passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 8, 1935, the daughter of Harold and Hazel (Gabaree) Kelley. She attended grade school at the one-room school house on Jones Brook Road in Moretown and graduated with honors from Montpelier High School in 1953.

On July 21, 1957 She married Frederick Ladue. They had three children. Mr. Ladue predeceased her on October 21, 2016.

Together they owned Ladue’s Riverside Market in Montpelier for 25 years and a second market, Ladue’s Two on the Barre-Montpelier Road for five years. Prior to managing the markets, Pat worked for National Life Insurance and the Vermont Secretary of State’s office for many years. However, her most respected and dedicated “job” was raising her children and caring for her family; this was a strong value she never forgot.

She was a life member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary post #792 in Montpelier. Patricia loved to crochet, knit and hook rugs. Throughout her life she made hundreds of beautiful afghans, doilies, snowflakes, barbie doll clothes and more; often drawing her own patterns.

She loved flowers and gardening and when younger enjoyed hunting and fishing for “brookies”. She was a great cook; friends and family would stop by to partake of her home cooked meals and desserts, especially her donuts. Survivors include her children; son, Jeffrey M. Ladue and spouse Julia J. Ladue of Moretown; daughter, Kim A. Ladue and spouse Robert B. LaClair of Barre Town; and daughter, Pamela J. Sanguinetti and spouse Bruce M. Sanguinetti of Jericho; her grandchildren, Jeffrey L. Ladue of San Diego, CA and Jacob M. Ladue of Los Angeles, CA, Erica M. Weber of Beverly, MA, Madison P. Sanguinetti of Jericho, VT, and Justin D. Sanguinetti and fiancé Leah Martin of Jericho, VT, and sister Lorraine Smith of Bradenton, FL, and loving great-grandchild Jacob Lee of Moretown.

A graveside service will be held in the Spring at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, VT. In lieu of flowers, condolences can be sent via the website and/or cards to the family. Pat always said, “I would rather get flowers when I am alive and can enjoy them, not after I’m gone”.
