Paul Allen Sherwood, 70, of Marquette, died Sunday morning, April 22, 2018 at his home. He was born July 21, 1947 in Petoskey, Michigan, a son of the late Willard and Geraldine (Dibling) Sherwood and was a 1965 graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School in Petoskey. Paul enlisted in the USAF and was a Vietnam veteran.

His interests included hiking, fishing, gardening, swimming, golfing and skiing. The latter led him to try out for the Olympic Ski Team in his youth. Paul loved his wife, children and grandchildren deeply and will be greatly missed by them.

Paul is survived by his wife, Cathy (Tomlinson) Sherwood, whom he married on September 13, 1969 in Allegan, MI; 6 children, Adam (Vianey) Sherwood of Indianapolis, IN, Steven (Sara) Sherwood of Rochester, MN, Michael Sherwood of Petoskey, MI, Andrea (Joshua) Maxwell of Traverse City, MI, Annette Sherwood of Ishpeming and Anne (Roy) Johnson of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Drakke, Kael, Bram, Malakai, Anthony, Brooklyn, William, Jack, Jay, Alexander, Henry and Alice. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Heikkala officiating.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Mass in the church. In lieu of flowers or contributions, please pray for the Sherwood family during this difficult time.
