Penny’s Obituary Penny Gayle Cranford Young, 69, of Lexington passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, May 28th at First Baptist Church Welcome Cemetery with Rev. Mark Blair officiating the service.

Visitation will be held following the service at the grave and other times at the home. Mrs. Young was born on June 25, 1949 in Randolph County, NC to Buren Brown Cranford and Rachel Bruton Cranford. She retired from Cranford Silkscreen as a silkscreen technician and attended First Baptist Church in Welcome.

Her greatest love in life was her husband, children and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ruth Robertson. Surviving are her loving husband of 38 years, Calvin Young; sons, Steven Thomas of Lexington and Russel Thomas of Winston-Salem; step-son Mark Young (Linda) of Lexington; step-daughter, April Brindle (Chad) of Lexington; sister, Kaye Hilton of Greensboro; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
