Phyllis “Jessie” Baldwin, 82, of Hampstead passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. She was the wife of the late James Gilbert Baldwin. Born December 5, 1936, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Helen May (Jenkins) Poist.

Jessie retired from Carroll Hospital Center in 1990. After retiring, Jessie loved spending time with her family. She also loved to travel.

She spoiled her cat and dog, Fuzzy and Jeremy. Jessie… Read More » lived for her great-grandbabies. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are children Glen (Bonnie) Burnham of North East, MD, Gary Burnham of Deerfield Beach, FL, Donna Burnham of Hanover, PA and John Arthur Burnham of Deerfield Beach, FL; sister Jennifer (Kermit) Lee of Hanover, PA; grandchildren Julie (Jeffrey) Mayer, Sarah (Casey) Schulman, Kelley Burnham and Westley Brauning; great-grandsons Carson Schulman and Dominic Mayer. Jessie is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jessie was predeceased by her daughter Jacqueline Maize and her siblings, Alan Poist, Audrey McDonaldson, Shirley Clark, Edward Poist, Joan Muraoka, Robert Poist and Timmy Poist.

She was also predeceased by her first husband, Donald Burnham. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd. , Westminster.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19 at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery. Donations to the Dove House, 292 Stoner Rd, Westminster, MD 21157, in Jessie’s memory, would be welcome.
