Ralph Smoker passed away on April 16, 2018 in Oklahoma City. He was born on February 18, 1938 in Ludlow, PA to Anthony Paul Smoker and Helen Komencia Smoker. He graduated from Harborcreek Public Schools in 1956.

Afterwards, Ralph served our country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1956-1968. In 1957, the Air Force sent him to school to learn Russian and become an interpreter. Ralph also attended college while serving in the Air Force.

He served during the Korean War in Japan,… Read More » Turkey, Scotland, Germany and returned home in 1965 to finish his duties at Tinker Air Force Base. Upon his discharge, Ralph began a career of Electrical Technician at the GE/Honeywell. He later would move to Calvin because the area reminded him of home in Pennsylvania.

It was during this time that he became employed at the US Army Ammunition Depot and worked here until his retirement in 1998. His hobbies included gardening, hunting and growing flowers. He also loved animals; namely geese, turkey and guinea chicks all of which he enjoyed raising on his farm.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Barbara Smoker, Ronald Smoker, and Janet Smith. Survivors include his sons, Mike Smoker of Florida, Ralph Smoker Jr. and wife Cassandra of Yukon, Edward Smoker and wife Fran of Moore, grandchildren Shaina Smoker, Justin Smoker, Amber Smoker, Edward Smoker, Kayla Smoker, and Kaylen Smoker, siblings Anthony Smoker and wife Sandy of Florida, Helen Foll of Erie, PA as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Rev. Dane Robinson will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Ralph Smoker Jr., Shaina Smoker, Justin Smoker, Edward Smoker, Amber Smoker, Edward Smoker Jr. and honorary bearers Kayla Smoker and Kaylen Smoker.

Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery in Calvin, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Online condolences to the family can be made at www.
