Raymond “Ray” Nolen, age 73, of Bonnerdale, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was born on April 21, 1945, in Delight, the son of Benjamin Franklin Nolen and Mattie Hill Nolen. On February 11, 1968, he was married to Evelyn “Ruth” Wilson Nolen, who preceded him in death on June 28, 2010.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Glen Nolen; and his nephew, Keith Nolen. He was employed with Weyerhaeuser for over thirty years, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dierks for many years. He enjoyed watching every John Wayne movie, even watching them over and over.

His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mike Nolen and Matthew and Beth Nolen, all of Amity; his grandchildren, Evelyn Denise Nolen and Matthew Hursel Nolen; his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Gretta Nolen of Florida; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Nolen of Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www. davis-smith.com.
