Obituary for Rhea “Pat” Rubinstein Rhea “Pat” Rubinstein passed away on September 5, 2018. Born on April 24, 1930 to Rowena Viola and Milton Harry Goshien of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Pat maintained a home in Massachusetts all of her life. After high school, she graduated college in Boston with a physician’s assistant degree.

She married the love of her life, Donald Rubinstein, and they stayed happy and strong together until his passing nearly 65 years later in 2015. Pat worked as a physician’s assistant and office manager for a Fall River ob-gyn practice until her retirement. She and Don then began to enjoy their winters in Hilton Head, SC.

But nothing brought them as much joy as their grandsons. Pat had a way of making light of things, and yet demanding the best from each of us. She was a gourmet chef, a talented knitter, and a true and loyal friend.

She enjoyed bridge, reading, learning, and socializing with her many dear friends. And she had a penchant for candor; if Pat said it, you knew it was so. We apologize, Pat, for any omissions or mistakes in your obituary as it is the only part of your life for which you gave us no directions.

Pat is survived by her children, Nina Walters, Clay Walters and Mary Jo and Tony Norman; grandchildren, Dylan Walters and Devin Walters; sister and her husband, Susan and Joe Young; sister-in-law Sally Goshien; and many devoted nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald, her son, Barry, her brother, David, and her brother-in-law Stanley Rubinstein. A memorial service for Pat will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 11am, in the chapel of Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence.

Services have been entrusted to the care of the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River. Upcoming Events Memorial Service NOV 5.
