RICHARD’s Obituary Richard Maack, 93 years old of Lindenhurst, IL passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his home. He was born May 31, 1925 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Anton and Marie (nèe Borysiewicz) Makowka. On November 17, 1946, he married the late Phyllis M. Maack in Chicago and they lived in Niles, IL for many years.

They later moved to Antioch where they were parishioners of St. Peter Church. After 25 years in Antioch, they settled in Lindenhurst five years ago. Richard and Phyllis enjoyed many years of traveling.

He was also an avid golfer and Bears fan. He is survived by two children, Lori (David) Petykowski of Antioch and Richard Jr. (Katie) Maack of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Becky (Mitch), Emily (Matt), Rachel (Ryan) and Christopher; eight great-grandchildren, William, Evelyn, Bryson, Adelyn, Violet, Finley, Avery, and Claire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his son, Steven; and his sister, Laura.

Visitation will be from 1:00PM until 5:00PM Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St., Antioch, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Monday, February 25, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, IL.
