Richard “Deetch” Tarolli, passed away at age 93 in Syracuse, where he was a life-long resident. He was born to the late Giocondo and Yolanda (Doliner) Tarolli in 1926 and graduated from Solvay High School where he excelled in History. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II (1944-46) as a Radioman Third Class dealing with vital transmitted information.

As a devoted father and friend, Richard was a member of the Solvay Tyrol Club, the Stanley B. Pennock VFW Post 2893, the Alpine Choraliers and the Moose Club. He loved to dance, sing, play the harmonica, golf, bowl, watch S.U. sports and making new and lasting bonds with people wherever he went. Mr. Tarolli worked as an employee of G.E. and AT&T before starting his own business selling and repairing televisions and other electronics at Tarolli TV Sales and Service for nearly 50 years before retiring.

Richard is predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Edwin. Surviving are his children; Michelle Nicaise and Cindy Tarolli, both of Onondaga Hill, Paul and Mark Tarolli. Both of Westvale, siblings Alvin Tarolli, of Camillus, Daniel Tarolli, of Geddes and Diana Bourdeau, of Westvale, his caregiver; Joyce Tarolli and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 8:45 am Tuesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am at St. Cecilia Church, Solvay, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Monday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
