Shipton, 85, of Syracuse passed into God’s Arms on January 27, 2019. Della was born and raised on a farm in Smithville Flats, NY. She graduated from Edward Myer School of Nursing in Buffalo and became a Registered Nurse.

She spent most of her career and retired from Upstate Medical Center. Della was predeceased by her parents, Geoffrey and Margaret McBirney Shipton; three sisters, Margaret Hayes, Catherine and Elsie Rifanburg; six brothers, George, John, Richard, Bernard, Arthur and Paul. She is survived by her sister, Olive Marlin and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Loretto Cunningham and Crouse Hospital for the excellent care of their beloved sister and aunt. A private family service will be held in the Spring.
