Richard Donald Bondy September 07, 1962 – January 21, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Richard Donald Bondy, 56, of Atlanta, MO, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO. Richard was born on September 7, 1962, in Moberly, MO, the son of Alfred J. and Gleva A. (Jansen) Bondy. He was united in marriage to Margaret “Meggie”Marie Turner on August 11, 1984, in Brunswick, MO.

Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta and was the Atlanta Postmaster for 25 years. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, reading, collecting coins, collecting stamps, putting together puzzles, playing cards and memorizing scripture. Richard also enjoyed the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou.

Richard is survived by his wife, “Meggie” of Atlanta,five children, Amber Speer and her husband Scott of Quincy, IL, (Arianna, Stephen, Samuel, Angela and Sarah Speer), Ashley Kuse and her husband Tony of Lebanon, MO, (Noah, Olga, Zendaya, Jacquelyn and Asa Kuse), John Bondy of Atlanta, Alexandria Bondy (Ryan Richard Wehner and Michael Standfuss) of Kirksville, MO, and Aaron Bondy of Atlanta, an honorary son, Kris Bushmeyer and his wife Erin of Centralia, MO, (Evan Bushmeyer), one brother, Wayne Bondy and his wife Cathy of Brunswick, one sister, Joyce Jacobs and her husband Floyd of Brunswick, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, in-laws, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, with Bro.

Chance Glenn officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott Grove Cemetery in Brunswick. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Wednesday evening, at the First Baptist Church of Atlanta.

The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Arrangements are under the direction of the Elliott Funeral home in Atlanta.
