Janis was born on March 26, 1952, in Belle Plaine, IA, the daughter of Ross and Lola (Morrison) Brewer. She was united in marriage to John Huffman on March 24, 1973 in Rochelle, IL.

Janis enjoyed cooking, crafts, family and especially her grandchildren. Janis is survived by her two daughters, Amanda Huntsman and her husband Andy of Jacksonville, MO, and Kate Huntsman and her husband Calvin of Jacksonville, MO; four grandchildren, Brendan, Logan, Chase, Reed Huntsman all of Jacksonville; one sister, Linnea Vesley of Bethalto, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO.
